Owing to its multicultural orientation, the Canton of Berne has numerous international educational facilities. For children and young people, there are international educational institutions such as the International School of Berne, the ‘‘Ecole française de Berne‘‘, the ‘‘Ecole cantonale de la langue française‘‘ and the British School of Berne. Mainstream Swiss schools provide teaching in either French or German (Biel, Bernese Jura).
